Abstract: The term ‘business rule management system’ is often used by software vendors to name certain software products which support the management of business rules. In this article we take a broader approach to describe the business rule management system. A model that comprises of six views will be introduced and corresponding domains for further research and development will be identified. The article is based on the findings of the workshop Business Rule based Service Management.
